October 18, 2026 The Old World Order Is Over. This Is What Could Come Next.There is no reboot mechanism in history; there is no way back to the conveniently binary world of the last century any more than Mr. Trump can realize the illusions of Make America Great Again. The world is moving on.

Sep 1, 2026 A New World Order is Coming: We Aren't Ready "Those of us who live in relatively stable and well-ordered societies would like to believe..." this isn't happening.

A vague but pointed threat from the president lands amid French riots and an unpopular Iran war, and it collides with legal limits on any actual NATO exit.   Trump's latest pronouncement about the US leaving Europe   raises a counterfactual question  I can answer with different versions of the    EUL20 Model   (see below). The graphic above compares time plots of the EUL20 US-input , BAU ( Business-as-Usual ) and RW ( Random Walk ) models.  The results indicate that, historically, a US-Exit would have lost a lot of growth. However, the US-input has been cyclical and is forecast to start dropping around 2030. After 2045, US-input is no better than BAU (no input). Jan 20, 2026   Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney  gave a show-stopper speech to the World Economic Forum  announcing that the Rule-Based International Order ( RBIO ), established at the Bretton Wood Conference in 1944 , had now collapsed--largely as a result of unilateral actions by the Trump II Administration . Carney's recommendation was that the Middle Powers (the Core Countries  in the  World-System ) unite against the Hegemonic Leader  (the US ) to recreate the RBIO and resist Hegemonic Bullying. Carney's essential argument is that the RBIO  never functioned as intended, worked to the advantage of the Hegemon rather than the World-System and had to be reformed.
